Sudbury Primary School

Welcome

A warm welcome to Sudbury Primary School where our pupils are happy and feel valued, and our staff are experienced, committed and supportive.

We pride ourselves on providing wonderful learning experiences in a calm, safe and purposeful environment, with a child-centred approach to everything we do.

The school’s ethos and values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Kindness & Courage are celebrated and upheld across the school so that pupils of all ages enjoy learning and developing the skills they need to achieve even more success through their transition to high school. These values are also deeply rooted with staff and is reflected in their teaching and the way they engage and support one another.

Our curriculum is ambitious and inspiring alongside the number of adventures, workshops, events and extracurricular activities we have on offer. Seeing the impact of our rich and exciting pupil experience drives us to provide further exceptional opportunities for our young people.

We have high expectations and aspirations for pupils who are motivated to be the best they can be. Pupils are encouraged to share their opinions and views, with Pupil Voice highly valued at our school – everyone is involved and everyone has a voice. We are delighted to have been awarded the Flagship School for Inclusion Quality Mark, one of only 100 schools in the UK.

Being part of Chrysalis Multi-Academy Trust and Challenge Partners has afforded us multiple opportunities for growth and development. As such we have superb staff expertise from specialists in key subject areas to executive coaches and trained moderators. We also have a partnership with Place2Be which focuses on mental health to support our school and pupils. We firmly believe in the wellbeing of our pupils and the progression and work-life balance of our staff.

Children and staff alike enjoy coming to school because of our embracing, friendly and inclusive environment. There are over 42 languages spoken at the school with families from different countries, backgrounds and ethnicities coming together as one community in celebration of our uniqueness and differences for the benefit of our young people. We also have specialist provision for autism within the school in our highly regarded Rainbow Room.

Parents and carers also have a vital role to play in our success. Our home-school partnerships are very strong, and our parental workshops are popular as we share our learning experiences across different subjects and areas including safeguarding, the curriculum, and English and Maths for EAL.

I invite you to explore our website and to visit our vibrant, friendly and inspiring school. Come and enjoy the warmest of welcomes and see what we can offer your child and family as we continue to provide a first-class education for all.
