Curriculum Purpose
Our curriculum advances children’s knowledge of the world by embracing the rich diversity of our school community to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of modern life.
Curriculum Rationale
Our PE curriculum is planned using Sudbury’s core values, a whole child approach to PE and the objectives laid out in the National Curriculum. PE lessons encourage children to improve their physical, social, emotional and thinking skills, and these skills are embedded in the heart of our planning.
Sudbury’s objectives in the teaching of PE align with the National Curriculum, by aiming to ensure all pupils:
- Develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
- Are physically active for sustained periods of time
- Engage in competitive sports and activities
- Lead healthy, active lives.
